Visit Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi UAE

Welcome to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, UAE’s largest and most elegant decorated mosque, which attracts more than 4 million visitors each year.

In 2018 the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was ranked as the world’s third favorite landmark surpassing the Taj Mahal and St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

The mosque is estimated to have a cost of around $545 million. It took over 12 years to complete. It can hold up to 40,000 worshipers, and it currently holds three Guinness Records of the biggest chandelier, largest handwoven carpet, and largest dome of its kind in the world.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was named after UAE’s first president. He personally took the design’s architectural direction, where he wished for it to be his final resting place. Soon after he passed in 2004, his body was buried in the courtyard.

The astonishing mosque was the design of architect Yousef Aabdelky from Syria. Inspired by Moorish and Persian architecture, it was a very international design with over 300 artisans’ collaboration.
